Economic development - Christchurch and East Dorset

Christchurch and East logo

Christchurch and East Dorset Partnership have launched a Going for Growth five year plan to create the best opportunity for our local economy to grow, and businesses to succeed.

We are committing our own resources to going for growth to complement investment from other partners such as Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership, Dorset County Council and private investors.

You can find out more in the Going for Growth leaflet (pdf, 857kb) (opens in a new window).

At our launch events we asked over 300 businesses to tell us how we can best support them to grow. Read our responses to Going for Growth feedback (pdf, 406kb) (opens in a new window).

Economic Growth Strategy

The Partnership's Economic Growth Strategy sets out the priorities for the Partnership's investment in the local economy. The Partnership has consulted with local businesses to help prepare the Strategy and will report to local businesses on its delivery through events, newsletters and social media. The Partnership welcomes comments regarding the Christchurch and East Dorset Economic Growth Strategy (pdf, 4Mb) (opens in a new window).

We have also created a Going for Growth Local Delivery Plan (pdf, 669kb) (opens in a new window) to show the work we are doing to deliver the strategy.

Business breakfast meetings

We hold regular business breakfast at a variety of venues in the area.

'Brexit and Beyond' September 2016

Over 150 local businesses recently attended our latest round of Going for Growth Business Breakfast events entitled 'Brexit and Beyond'. The event aimed to address the question ''What does the Brexit mean for Local Businesses?''. With a slightly altered format to our previous business breakfasts, the morning also gave business people from across the Christchurch and East Dorset area the chance to pose questions regarding Brexit to a panel of local experts. View the Going for growth - Brexit and Beyond PowerPoint slides (pdf, 3Mb) (opens in a new window) which were presented as part of the morning.
