What can I recycle at Blandford household recycling centre?
Charges for certain items
There are charges for bringing the following materials to Dorset Waste Partnership household recycling centres:
- hardcore and rubble
- asbestos (cemented bonded)
- gas bottles
Excluding asbestos there is no longer a limit on how much of each type of material can be brought onto site, within reason.
Maximum one-off deposit of up to three sheets of 1.8m x 1.2m (approx. 6ft x 4ft).
Asbestos must be double bagged, pre-booked and paid for online before being delivered onto site.
Commercial vehicle and waste restrictions at household recycling centres
Please note that commercial vehicle and waste restrictions apply at our household recycling centres.
Large trailers more than 1.2 metres wide and 1.8 metres long cannot be used to take waste to our HRCs.
Commercial waste and recycling
Commercial waste (general rubbish, wood and garden waste) can be taken to Sherborne and Blandford HRCs on Saturday mornings between 8am and 12noon only. Your vehicle will be weighed and disposal will need to be paid for. Contact W&S Recycling (opens in a new window) for disposal costs.
Garden waste collection
Save yourself the trip to the household recycling centre with our popular fortnightly garden waste collection: apply online for fortnightly garden waste collection.
Bulky waste collection
If you have larger items such as a fridge, old sofa or bed and do not have suitable transport to take it to the household recycling centre, you can request a bulky waste collection.
The site is operated by our contractor, W&S Recycling.
