Dorchester Road improvement scheme

Dorchester Road

Work has been carried out to improve Dorchester Road following the opening of the Weymouth Relief Road.

We've so far carried out work to seven sections of Dorchester Road to help transform it from a formerly busy and congested major route to a quieter local road.

Latest news

Work has finished on the Dorchester Road improvements.

The final phase was completed earlier this year - new build-outs allow cars to pass side-by-side but encourage drivers to slow down as the road no longer has a straight line of travel.

The scheme was funded through the Weymouth Relief Road, with improvements to Dorchester Road included in the relief road business case.
