Dorset Archaeological Days 2017

An annual series of guided walks and events on archaeological themes organised by Dorset County Council's Historic Environment Team in partnership with the Dorset Archaeological Committee.

This year's Dorset Archaeological Days programme ranges from splendid prehistoric sites such as Badbury Rings near Wimborne and the stunning barrow cemeteries of the South Dorset Ridgeway to our industrial heritage at Kimmeridge, and World War II military history at Burton Bradstock. 'Dorset Archaeological Days EXTRA!' events are added through the year, so keep an eye on this page.

Archaeological events and booking

The 2017 leaflet has been sent to everyone on our mailing list, and we are gradually distributing it to libraries, museums and tourist information centres in the county. If you can help with envelope stuffing or delivering packs of leaflets in your local area, we'd love to hear from you.

We are always looking for new ideas, so please let us have suggestions for walks or favourite monuments you would like to be included in next year's programme. We would particularly like to know of good places to start a walk.

Get in touch if you would like to go on the mailing list for information about Dorset Archaeological Days and other events
