Commemorative Seats in Christchurch

How to obtain a commemorative seat.

Commemorating a seat for a loved one is a popular request in Christchurch; in the interests of fairness we process requests on a first-come first-served basis.  Due to the volume of requests there is a queue for processing which can be up to one year.

The current costs of sponsorship are outlined below (VAT is not chargeable):

Type of commemorative seatCost
Engraved commemorative plaque for a ten year period exclusive to one family£1,500
Engraved commemorative plaque for a ten year period shared by a maximum of three people - cost for each plaque£500

All seats will be owned and maintained by the council.

If you wish to be added to the queue please complete the Commemorative Plaque Application form (pdf, 60kb) (opens in a new window) and email to the address below. Please inform us if you have a location preference and we will try to accommodate this as much as possible.
