Find out how to borrow e-books. They are easy to use and free to library members.

How to borrow e-books and audio books

  • Browse the Dorset Digital Library and download audio and e-books for free to a personal computer/iPad, Mac, Sony/Kobo readers or iPod
  • Files can usually be transferred to supported devices such as MP3 players
  • Files automatically expire at the end of the lending period, normally seven or 14 days
  • If you are planning to buy a reader, check the supported device guidance page (under digital media help) on the Dorset Digital Library pages to make sure it is compatible if you want to use it with the Dorset Digital Library (please note that the Overdrive App can be downloaded for the Kindle Fire - and Libby will be available soon - but other Kindle devices are not supported).
  • You must be a Dorset library member with access to an internet enabled device
