Empty property loans and other assistance available in Purbeck

Loans and other assistance is available in Purbeck to help bring long term empty properties back into use.

A new scheme to help bring long term empty property back into use has been launched by Purbeck District Council. The scheme, will enable the council to offer a loan of up to £25,000 to the owners of long term empty properties in Purbeck. If you are interested, please complete and return the Empty Homes Loan leaflet (pdf, 55kb) (opens in a new window)

There are also a number of ways we can help private landlords secure tenants for empty properties through another scheme (pdf, 157kb) (opens in a new window) providing support and financial aid.

Although there are relatively small numbers of long term empty properties in Purbeck, the council sees it as a priority to bring as many of them back into use as possible.

One of the council's core aims is to meet the housing needs of local people. With many environmental restraints on land use the development of new housing in Purbeck has been restricted and it is important that the current housing stock is fully utilised.

If you wish to apply for a loan or if you are a private landlord and would like to discuss other ways we can help you let an empty property, contact the Environment Team at Purbeck District Council.
