Local Poll on the Proposal to Reorganise Local Government

Christchurch Borough Council is undertaking a local poll following the Secretary of State's minded-to decision in support of the proposal to replace the existing nine local authorities in Dorset with two unitary authorities.

The poll is to be conducted by post with ballot papers being sent to all electors included on the latest published register on Friday 1 December 2017. The postal pack will include a statement and instructions addressed to the elector with a ballot paper attached; supporting information about the proposal; and a postage paid return envelope.

Completed ballot papers must be returned either by post or hand-delivered to the Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Christchurch by 5.00pm on Thursday 14 December 2017.
