How to submit an online comment on an application

Each valid planning application we receive is subject to a 21 day consultation period so that the views on the proposed development can be expressed by local communities and Statutory consultees. Letters to neighbours, site notices and press adverts all include the date by which comments should be received. This is usually 21 days after the letter was sent or the site notice displayed. The council cannot make a decision on an application until the latest date publicised for receipt of comments has passed if there are differences in the dates published. The planning authority has no control over the publication dates within newspapers and site notices cannot always be erected immediately.

To ensure that your views are not misinterpreted, we can only accept them in writing.  Submit a comment on a planning application by registering with Public Access.  Your comment will be sent to the Case Officer and will appear immediately online.  Due to the great number of responses to planning applications. It is not always possible to reply to individual concerns raised.  All relevant planning issues raised will be taken into account when determining the application.

Please be aware that any comments you make:

  • must avoid comments and information of a sensitive or personal nature
  • must only refer to relevant planning issues, such as
