Out-of-school clubs

Out-of-school clubs provide care for school aged children:

  • at the beginning or end of the school day
  • during school holidays

These clubs are available in and outside of school and can include:

  • breakfast clubs
  • after-school clubs
  • holiday schemes

Many pre-schools and day nurseries also offer out-of-school clubs.

All clubs will support children who are disabled or have additional needs. You can find out what support they offer by searching for childcare in our directory.

What happens at an out-of-school club?

All clubs will vary but they can provide a fun, active and child-led environment. Some clubs run specific activities such as sports or skills workshops.
