Accessible venues

How do I know if a venue or activity is accessible?

To find out if a venue or activity is accessible:

  • check the venue or activity website - you may need to check their FAQ's
  • call the venue
  • visit the venue

Discuss your needs with a member of staff of the venue in advance. They might be able to make special arrangements if needed.

Cinemas

Cinemas with subtitles

Visit Your Local Cinema to find a cinema near you with subtitles.

Special adjustments

You can also apply for a CEA card. The card ensures that participating cinemas make adjustments to suit your needs when you visit. You can also get one free ticket for someone to go with you.

Visit the CEA Card website to find out:

  • if you are eligible
  • where you can use the card
  • how to apply

You don't need to have a CEA Card for to get an adjustment. All cinemas must make adjustments.

Autism

You can access autism friendly film screenings each month at many cinemas in Dorset. The cinemas play the films in a sensory friendly and inclusive environment. They are available to:

  • families
  • children
  • young people

Go to Dimensions to find out more information including:
