At Portland Outlooks Children's Centre we offer additional services for children and families including the following:

What if my family needs more support?

If you feel you and your family might need extra support, Children's Centre staff can help you identify what help you need and then work with you to plan a way forward. Find information on extra family support in Children's Centres.

Health services

Health visitors hold a weekly clinic and drop into groups to promote healthy choices with your child, dental hygienists attend some of our groups.

There is a breastfeeding support group and we offer a breast pump and TENS machine loan scheme. The centre is also a distribution point for Healthy Start vitamins (opens in a new window) and information.


We are able to refer families to the local foodbank. Please contact Portland Outlooks Children's Centre for further information. We also provide information about healthy eating and cooking on a budget.

Community links

Portland Outlooks Children's Centre staff can often be found running a Parent Pitstop in local early years settings, Atlantic Academy Portland and St Georges School, so stop in and have a chat.
