Christchurch Community Governance Review 2017

A review of the governance and electoral arrangements for the whole of the borough of Christchurch is being undertaken during 2017/18.

The council is undertaking a community governance review of the unparished areas as well as the existing parishes of Burton and Hurn.

The review will be conducted in accordance with the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 (opens in a new window) and other relevant legislation. Regard will be given to the Guidance on community governance reviews (opens in a new window) issued by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government and the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.

The review must be completed within 12 months and commenced on 20 November 2017 following the publication of the terms of reference and timetable (pdf, 98kb) (opens in a new window).

Christchurch Borough Council is considering the submissions received and draft recommendations will be published on 25 May for a period of consultation.
