Coach permits for restricted roads in Purbeck

Coaches and minibuses with over a 12-seat capacity, are prohibited from certain minor roads within the Purbeck District, unless in possession of a permit from Dorset County Council

The following villages are covered by a Traffic Regulation Order which prohibits coaches over 12-seats in capacity from entering without a permit. You must apply for a permit from Dorset County Council - there is no charge for this service.

  • Kimmeridge - access to Kimmeridge Bay is via a private toll road which operates from March - October school half-term. Queries should be made to the land agent 01747 820031. Booking is not required but the toll charge is £20 per coach and £10 per minibus

  • Church Knowle

  • Steeple

  • Creech Hill

  • Tyneham - this location is within the MOD Ranges and access is under their control, sometimes roads are closed during firing times (opens in a new window). Contact MOD Lulworth (Lulworth Gunnery Ranges Office) on 01929 404 712 for further information

  • East Creech

  • West Creech Hill

  • Worth Matravers - there is no coach parking here. Access is for drop-off and collection only
