Tree maintenance and surgery

Our arboricultural team manages the county council's tree stock. They also undertake similar work for commercial customers.

The arboricultural team has access to a wide range of electronic diagnostic equipment which is used to determine the extent of decay in trees. This has helped to save many trees from being unnecessarily felled. The arboricultural team also provide advice on planning and development issues and deal with public enquiries relating to tree problems.

Tree services

The arboricultural team can undertake various physical tree works including:

  • planting
  • transplanting of young and semi-mature trees
  • pruning
  • crown lifting
  • crown reduction and balancing
  • removing deadwood
  • felling
  • stump grinding
  • tree inspections and advice

Our arboricultural officers and manager are fully qualified and experienced to carry out tree inspections. This is done in accordance with BS 5837:2012, which is the British Standards Institute recommendations for dealing with trees in relation to design, demolition and construction.

We can also produce reports that highlight the works that are required together with a recommended timescale for the works to be carried out. Inspections can also be carried out for other local authorities.
