St Catherine's Hill and Town Common Management Plan

The Plan, which covers a 10 year period from 2012 to 2022 was adopted in October 2012. It sets out the future management for St Catherine's Hill and part of Town Common, covering the western slopes and plateau on top of the hill.

A management plan steering group was established in 2009 to oversee the production of a new management plan (and associated maps) for St Catherine's Hill and Town Common in Christchurch. Once the plan was completed and adopted the group reformed to oversee the implementation of the plan.

This group comprises representatives from the following bodies:

  • Hurn Parish Council

  • Ward Councillors

  • Christchurch Borough Council

  • Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust (ARC)

  • Natural England

  • Friends of St Catherine's Hill

  • West Christchurch Residents Association

  • Bournemouth Water

  • Urban Heaths Partnership

A hydrology report relating to the area covered by the management plan was produced in November 2009 and is available to download as an executive summary or as a full report.
