Radipole Park Gardens
Although renamed in October 1999 as a tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, they are more commonly known as Radipole Park Gardens.
Discovering this tree lined retreat is a true delight for anyone, especially those with green fingers, as it offers year round interest with stunning summer bedding, shrubs, herbaceous perennials and bulbs. A variety of trees, as well as a walkway of Weeping Willows, makes this peaceful haven a popular setting for wedding photographs.
Sometimes referred to as the 'hidden gardens of Weymouth', they are located off the beaten track, running alongside the RSPB Swannery Nature Reserve, Radipole Park Drive, and are a must for anyone looking to enjoy a few stolen moments away from the crowds.
The entrances at both ends are wheelchair accessible. Some of the paths are uneven.
A small free of charge car park is available to visitors to the gardens.
Radipole Park open space
Radipole Park open space is adjacent to the gardens and has plenty to offer those looking for a bit more action. The play area, skatepark and football pitch are popular attractions for families who travel from across the borough to use the facilities. The large grassed area is ideal for those wishing to have picnics or to hold events, such as summer fayres or children's sports days.
