    There are several important ways in which you can help to preserve and make accessible our written heritage. These include contributing to the costs of storing archives, funding cataloguing or conservation or by joining our support organisation Dorset Archives Trust.

    Dorset Archives Trust (formerly the Friends of Dorset Archives) is an independent charitable body who support the work of Dorset History Centre and the preservation and promotion of the county's written heritage in general.

    Dorset History Centre supports and works with many groups and societies on projects which promote local history, or help preserve the memories and experiences of Dorset people. Recently we have worked with groups as diverse as Umoja Arts, Windrose Rural Media Trust and Bournemouth People First.
