Essential safeguarding adults skills update
This course is required for all individuals who support adults at risk within the community, residential, nursing home, housing and hospital settings, who have previously undertaken Safeguarding Adults Awareness training in the last 3 years. It ensures staff refresh their knowledge and understanding of adult safeguarding and their responsibilities under the Dorset multi-agency policy.
By the end of the course participants should be able to:
- update their knowledge on recent developments in Safeguarding practice and changes to the legal and strategic framework
- explore the role of Safeguarding in the prevention of abuse
- be clear about their role if safeguarding fails and abuse
- be clear about their role if Safeguarding fails and abuse is suspected or disclosed
All individuals who support vulnerable adults within the community, residential, nursing home, housing and hospital settings, who have previously undertaken Essential Safeguarding Adults Skills training. Staff must attend Safeguarding Adults Refresher training every 3 years.
