Essential safeguarding adults skills
This course aims to raise awareness of safeguarding adults and ensure that all staff are aware of their role and responsibilities within the Dorset multi-agency policy.
The course will enable participants to:
- define who is an adult at risk and what is meant by vulnerability, abuse and harm
- explore the role of safeguarding in the prevention of harm
- to understand your role as a professional worker
- be clear about your role in recognising and responding if harm is suspected or disclosed
All individuals supporting vulnerable adults within the community, residential, nursing home, housing and hospital settings who have not previously attended Safeguarding Adults training or who did so in excess of 3 years ago.
Please note: Staff must undertake an update every three years. Please see the half day refresher courses for this purpose.
