Recycling centre charges in Dorset

Recycling centres in Dorset charge for the disposal of certain types of material.

The council does not legally have to provide facilities for residents to dispose of materials that do not come from the day to day running of a household. Charging enables us to continue providing a disposal service for these materials.

Asbestos

Only pre-booked asbestos will be accepted on site. Asbestos is only accepted at Christchurch, Weymouth, Wareham and Blandford sites, and is limited to up to three 1.8m x 1.2m cement-bonded sheets annually per household.

Charges

These charges will apply to all householders visiting a household recycling centre that wish to drop off any of the specific items as detailed below.

Material that has come from commercial activity, including work carried out by a builder or tradesperson on your behalf, will not be accepted at all regardless of whether you are prepared to pay for it or not.
