Conditions of use

  • parking bay (s) in the traders car park are allocated to traders as opposed to trades or businesses

  • traders entitled to apply for parking bay(s) are those who own or operate trades or businesses in the town of Wimborne Minster

  • parking bay(s), once allocated, are not transferable from one business or trade to another. If the name of the business changes but the trader remains the same, the trader may retain his allocated parking bay(s). If the trader gives up or sells his business to another trader, any allocated parking bay(s) shall in the first instance revert to the district council for reallocation

  • a waiting list is kept of traders desiring spaces in the traders car park and vacancies are allocated on a first come first served basis. This shall only be modified in that priority will be given to traders who do not currently have a parking bay allocated

  • traders must use only the space(s) allocated to them

  • the use of an allocated parking bay(s) may temporarily be withdrawn in order for the council, or an authorised contractor, to perform necessary maintenance to the car park or adjacent property. In these circumstances, traders will be provided with temporary permit(s) for use in the public pay and display car parks

  • parking bays are allocated for the sole use of individual traders and must not be sublet

  • a valid permit must be displayed on the front windscreen of any vehicle using a space where it can be clearly seen
  • East Dorset District Council will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury to persons or property
  • the issue of a permit is subject to a vehicle being of a type authorised and used in accordance with the Parking Order(s) currently in force. The council reserves the right to withdraw the use of a Permit or issue an Excess Charge Notice for infringements of the Parking Order(s)
  • payments and/or charges in connection with the allocation and hire of parking bay(s) will be in accordance with the terms and rates set by the district council on an annual basis
  • if the district council becomes aware that traders are not using the allocated parking bays in accordance with the terms and conditions that have been set, or that reasonable full use is not being made of their parking bay(s), the council reserves the right to terminate the agreement with a view to re-allocating the parking bay(s) that are freed
  • East Dorset District Council will use any data provided within this application form for the issuing of parking permits and the detection of outstanding enforcement notices. It may also be disclosed to other departments within the council or external parties for related purposes or as required by law. All processing of this data will be in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.
