Using a van/trailer

You must have either a permit or hire agreement of a maximum of 3 days to take a van to the recycling centre.

Vans used for business cannot use Recycling centres managed by the Dorset Waste Partnership because the sites are not licensed to accept commercial waste.

You do not need a permit for:

  • caravans
  • mobile homes
  • campervans
  • minibuses
  • 4 x 4s
  • dual cab pick ups

Apply for or update a recycling centre permit

Trailers can be used, but the maximum trailer size is 1.8m x 1.2m (approx. 6ft x 4ft).

Poole and Bournemouth Recycling Centres

Please note that you will not be able to bring vans onto these sites, even if you have a permit that the Dorset Waste Partnership have issued for you.
