Barrack Road, Christchurch - replacement of pedestrian crossing

The traffic light crossing between Dragoon Way and Burnett Road is approaching the end of its working life and will be replaced.

The lights themselves along with the poles, underground cables and detector loops are being renewed.

The new LED lights will run at extra low voltage and consume less electricity.

Up-to-date vehicle and pedestrian detection will make the crossing safer for pedestrians while minimising delays for motorists.

A temporary pedestrian crossing will be in place for the duration of the works.

The works are due to start on 30 April 2018 with completion by 22 June 2018.

The cost of the project is £65,000.
