A 'Guide for Older Drivers', designed to refresh and update your driving.

If not, the Dorset Driver Gold programme may be right for you.

SafeWise (opens in a new window) has re launched Dorset Driver Gold.

Dorset Driver Gold provides an opportunity to update your driving skills and confidence on the road, as well as refresh your knowledge on topics such as the Highway Code, modern driving techniques, and how to keep driving safely for longer.

The programme is aimed at older drivers aged 65+ but drivers of all ages and experience are welcome.

Dorset Driver Gold - Highly commended

Dorset Driver Gold recently won 'Highly Commended' in the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards. The award was presented by Prince Michael of Kent at the award ceremony in London.

Project evaluation

The Dorset Driver Gold pilot project was launched in September 2013, with 150 volunteers taking part. The project has been independently evaluated by Dr Carol Hawley from the Division of Mental Health and Wellbeing, Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick.
