Outdoor 16 hour first aid course

The outdoor 16 hour first aid course is a practical two day course designed for people who work in the outdoors or who use the outdoors for pleasure.

They are ideally suited for teachers, outdoor instructors and Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expedition leaders.

This course is recognised by most national governing bodies.

Daniel Withers, our course tutor, works in the outdoor industry as a climbing and kayaking coach.

Course dates

See our course dates for 2018:

  • Thursday 31 May to Friday 1 June
  • Wednesday 8 to Thursday 9 August
  • Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 October

Courses run on arrangement, contact the centre to find out about other dates.

The course costs £130 per person. There is a 20% discount available to DofE volunteers at the Dorset County Council award centres.

Book a course

Fill out a  booking consent form (pdf, 43kb) (opens in a new window) and return it to the Centre with full payment. Pay by:

  • credit/debit card in person or over the phone
  • cheque, made payable to the Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre (post or in person)
  • cash (in person only)

Once the form is returned and you have paid, we will confirm your place and send you joining instructions, at the latest 10 days before the course starts
