North Dorset District Council National Bus Pass Scheme

Dorset County Council is now responsible for all bus pass applications and the National Scheme now applies in North Dorset. Some assistance for North Dorset residents who need to travel by bus to early medical appointments is available, by application.

Dorset County Council is responsible for concessionary bus pass applications and has contracted the Hampshire-based company Euclid Ltd to manage the process.

From 1 April 2013, residents in the Dorset County Council area will need to send applications for their concessionary fares bus pass to Euclid Ltd who specialise in producing and issuing ID cards.

North Dorset District Council - Medical travel grant

From the 1 April 2013, North Dorset District Council is no longer funding free all day travel in addition to the national scheme. We used to offer free travel before 9.30am, covering all North Dorset routes.

The national scheme does include some pre 9.30am routes where there is no next bus before 10.30am. For a list of these routes please see Full list of public transport services that can be used before 9.30am (19 July 2016) (pdf, 293kb) (opens in a new window)
