IRONMAN in Dorset, 17 September 2017 - traffic and travel information

The IRONMAN Triathlon returns for it's second year on Sunday 17 September 2017 through areas including (but not limited to); Weymouth Town Centre, Preston, Osmington, Poxwell, Warmwell, Crossways, Moreton, Tincleton, Puddletown, Piddlehinton, Piddletrenthide, Alton Pancras, Duntish, Pulham, Kings Stag, Pleck, Glanvilles Wootton, Middlemarsh and points south to the east side of Charlton Down, the east side of Charminster, the east side of Dorchester including Stinsford and Fordington, Broadmayne, Whitcombe and Winterbourne Came

2017 event travel at a glance:

  • shorter 70.3 mile route
  • roads will reopen earlier in phases
  • 70,000 resident/business letter-drops
  • Dorset Highways staff with local highways experience and knowledge on the marshaling team
  • car passes have been made available to social carers and workers
  • travel advice, updates and alerts on event day online, on your mobile and on the go

Roads will be closed and parking will be restricted during the event and you are encouraged to plan your journey in advance.
