Designated Public Place Orders (DPPOs) in Christchurch and East Dorset

The Anti-Social Behaviour, Police and Crime Act 2014, introduced Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs). The legislation stated that any existing Designated Public Place Orders (DPPO), Gating Orders or Dog Control Orders currently in force, would continue to be valid for a period of three years following commencement of the new Legislation (20th October 2014), at which point they would then be treated as PSPOs

As of 20 October 2017 all existing DPPOs in Christchurch and East Dorset are to be treated as PSPOs and will be enforced as such. There are no Gating Orders in either area.

There have been no changes to any of the current orders.

There were DPPOs in Christchurch Town Centre, Mudeford Wood, Purewell and Wimborne Town Centre, all of which are now PSPOs.
